Senior Grades

Hi,

I am taking 5 AP classes this year- AP Calc BC, Physics, Spanish, Government, and Literature. I am worried because I really want to get into top colleges (have my heart set on one Ivy League school) and I received an 84 in calc bc… The rest of my transcript is all A+ and A range, taking the most difficult classes at my school. Additionally, I received A-'es this term in both physics and lit (teacher doesn’t give above an A-).

Will it seem to colleges that I am giving up/not trying as hard as a senior? (With the calc bc grade, I got a 90 first term and 84 second). Sorry if this sounds extreme, but the whole college process has made me really stressed about this.

Thank you

Please help, need advice. Thanks

Maybe, but most of us are not admissions officers so we can’t tell you how it will be viewed. There’s going to be thousands of applications with qualifying GPAs, yours included. What’s really important is your essays, recs, and EC’s at an ivy league school where everyone has top GPAs and test scores. If you get rejected, it probably won’t be because of one B.

Agreed, if you get rejected one senior year B won’t be the problem.

But I would warn you off having your heart set on one Ivy school.
