Senior Grades

My senior grades dropped from 3.73 to 3.69 cumulative and my midyear GPA is 3.48. I was deferred by Northwestern and University of Michigan. Can I not send them my grades and still stand a chance?

For starters, you do not send the grades, your GC does. Regardless of what a college’s policies are, many GCs send them as a matter of course. But, here is what Michigan says:

Your Northwestern deferral letter probably included a sentence like “We look forward to receiving your mid-year report and wish you the best of luck in your senior year.” If so, then you need to follow the instructions. Failing to provide a college with requested documents makes your application incomplete and reduces the chances of acceptance to 0%.
