How much do senior grades matter for admissions?

I ask, because after the first semester next year I will have finished only one class, because most classes are all year. Do the marking period grades for courses that aren't complete have any potential to help me, say, if I get all As?

yes, they look at your semester grades if you have straight A's for your semester grades senior year that will likely help you out a lot... i heard that most colleges place the most emphasis on junior year and first semester senior year grades

First semester matters a lot. Second semester = cruising.

Second semester, just get a B average at least, with a few Cs at the very worst.

first semester is very important, and arguably the hardest to do well in. sure, junior year was tough with sat's and all, but right when you enter senior year, you're hit with this desire to stop caring because of all the senior year festivities and i guess the general allure of being a senior. the biggest burden of all is college apps.. need i say more. especially if you're a typical CC user and apply to like 10+ schools. add any sat's or sat II's you want to retake in one last attempt to bring up your score, and there's your junior year back again on top of all the senior year stuff you have to deal with.

i did reasonably well throughout high school, but burned out first semester of my senior year, and when april 1st came, the college decision letters showed for it. it's so easy to neglect your classes during a time when it seems like EVERYTHING'S going on, so just be extra careful about keeping your grades up because colleges are definitely looking to see if you can handle all the stress and pressure.

So even if the course isn't over in the first semester, they will look at how you are doing so far?

I ask because I want my senior grades to help me some

of course they are going to look at how you are doing so far... and that's why everybody has been saying they look at your first semester grades and they are very important
