Quick Question: Does USC look at first semester of senior year?

Yes, especially if your grades aren't high enough for you to be considered for one of the major scholarships. They will check most senior year grades.

They certainly look at your courseload. But a midyear report is also sent to USC when ready, with the transcript of first semester grades. However, some students receive acceptances as early as late January. At D's school, if I remember correctly, the first semester transcripts were not ready till February. Those accepted in January/February are usually those considered for the Trustee/Pres scholarships, but by the time the interviews take place (in late February or early March), USC has the first semester grades. For all others, when the admissions committee makes decisions, they do have the grades.
