Senior in HS, and considering community college, but don't know where to start

Hey
I'm currently a senior in high school and I'm applying mainly for lower uc's and csu's.
But since my GPA isn't too hot(2.8 weighted) and neither are my SAT's(1700, but I'm retaking in October, possibly December), I'm also considering community college. Most likely either De Anza or Ohlone.

Here's one of my problems..
I want to major in civil engineering and possibly business, but my math isn't too good, I took Alg2/Trig last year and decided to take AP Stats in place of Precal this year.

So I was wondering what I should take as soon as possible to get into any math class that's recommended or required/approved for UC/Privates.

I want to take some form of Calc first semester but I'll need Precal for that. But the thing is I took a placement test at Ohlone to see if I could get in for the summer of junior year but the highest recommended course I got was Alg2. I don't really feel like taking another placement test there b/c I don't want to risk failing to get into a math class I want and having to retake something lower that I've already taken in HS(this happened to a friend of mine).

So do you any of you have advice on what college has better options for me? Such as another college that has easier/no placement tests for math or what classes I should take in general for my major or classes I should take during freshmen year.
I'm planning on going for USC as my choice after a year CC cause I heard they only need 30 or so units.

In regards to your math situation, it really depends on the community college or college counselor you talk to. I know student’s who have been able to waive math classes by simply showing high school transcripts that show completion of higher level math, ie calculus.
Also if your “math isn’t too good” maybe you should just start at a lower math then straight up aiming for calculus. getting a c in community college calculus class, even a B, won’t be competitive for USC or higher UCs, especially if your prospective major will be business or engineering

What would be an appropriate math class below college calculus?

Any help is appreciated.
