Senior Prom???

I'm a senior at my high school in a relationship with a college freshman. Our relatioship is long-distance for the majority of the year, and I recently found out that he can't come to my senior prom. I love dancing and I've looked forward to my senior prom all through high school, but I know I won't have much fun going alone or with a group of other dateless/single girls. I'm very tempted to ask my boyfriend if he would feel comfortable with me asking a guy I'm friends with to go as my «escort», JUST AS FRIENDS, but I'm scared that will offend him or make him jealous. What do you think, should I ask or will that just start a fight? I don't want to miss something as universally important as Senior prom, bt I really love my boyfrien and I don't wan to ruin our relationship over this.

p.s. My boy and I ae going to have a «private prom» too; sometime when he visits we're gonna go out to dinner and have a romantic evening and all that. I'm very excited for that, but at the same time I want to have my real prom too.

I’m sorry for any spelling/grammer errors, I typed this on a Kindle and it’s keyboard is a little annoying.

I personally wouldn’t mind, but then, I might not reflect the opinion of the majority.

I think that is totally fine. Just make sure your boyfriend knows whoever you go to prom is essentially someone to take pictures with so you won’t be alone. I know my boyfriend would be fine with this, and I have seen girls do it before.

I agree with the other posters. Assuming you and your boyfriend have a pretty good/strong relationship, he should be fine with it. Just let him know how you feel and he should understand. Have fun!
