Senior Summer Suggestions... Super!

hi! I just escaped my junior year of highschool, and am now enjoying the summer before my senior year. I am 100% certain that I want to major in musical theatre in college, and have been doing a lot of research on this lovely website and on many others. I'll also be attending Interlochen's Musical Theatre Intensive in a week, and am doing a show at the local community theatre (I've usually done two every summer since I was 11). however--and I know this is a very broad question--what else should I, or other hopeful MT students, be doing this summer to prepare for upcoming auditions and decisions? please feel free to share your wisdom and experience. if there are tons of other threads of this nature, I apologize, and would appreciate a link to them.
thank you so much!

Research programs, look at audition requirements, read plays to start looking
for monologues, look for audition songs…

Have a TERRIFIC time enjoying the summer at Interlochen. Maybe also go to the beach, hang out with friends, go to the movies, reading, playing soccer, writing, volunteering, etc… Whatever you also enjoy doing. Have a wonderful summer!

KatMT has given you great advise. The only things I would add are that you should seriously consider completing all of the student portions of your applications before you start your senior year so that they are submitted and out of the way and you can devote the fall to preparing for your auditions. Also, before your teachers disappear for the summer, ask those you would want to use for recommendations if they would be willing to do so and get addresses to which you can send the recommendation forms and mailing envelopes in August. That way they can do your recommendations before the senior year crush hits and devote more time to them. Getting these things off your list by September makes life much saner during your senior year as you attend to all your normal school and extracurricular activities and deal with the demands of auditioning.

Great advice MichaelNKat :-)!

Thank you, KatMT and MichaelNKat! Reading plays to look for monologues is a really good idea–I’m always floundering for good pieces at the last minute! Doing what I enjoy is also good advice, since I tend to get all stressed out about college stuff and forget to do anything else. (: I love the idea of asking for teacher recommendations ASAP–I never would have thought of that. Thanks again!
