Senior Traditions

what are some of yours?

ours include:

senior tag - a tournament teams of 6 playing each other in a week long squirt gun fight. Rules include can't be shot while in a car, house or when you are naked. this year it was an all out war with hiding in bushes naked and getting people when they least expect it. We ended up "stealing" my friend's car and leaving him out naked to blackmail him.

on the second to last day all us seniors ride to school in unconventional methods this year included lawnmowers, electric scooters, tractors, mini bikes, mopeds, golf carts, and people rollerblading and scootering on the back of all of em. then we park em out in the courtyard of the school. It was sooo much fun goin down the road like that and just messin around.

senior field day - band plays, contests, games, food, and this year a giant water balloon fight.

senior dinner/casino night - dinner, dancing, the senior video is shown then we gamble with monopoly money to buy raffle tickets. This year ipods, psps and other things for college were raffled off and the casino games were great cause the parents did a great job holding it together.

our is when all the asians, latinos, and african-americans, and whites go to the football field and we all start from the end zones with super soakers and start running at each other and shooting. Our teachers are tryign to stop this tradition because really, it turns out to be violent. Dats like 3 days before school ends.

2 days before school ends: well, its kinda a traditon for the azns, but we all ditch and go paintballing. The rest do whatever

day before last day of school: No one comes. NOBODY, not even the valedictorian. So...yea.

last day of school: Same as above

last day of school- crazy water fight on main street in our cars. only rule is don't hit old people or people with no ammo. Once a guy got a 5 gallon bucket in his car and wrecked his stereo system.

At my school, the seniors usually win all the pep rally spirit sticks, sign the wall in the cafeteria, have "class night" and "senior banquet", all skip school one day near the end of the year called "senior skip day", and I'm sure there are more.

There used to be an end-of-summer event called "Senior/Freshman Day" which is when the rising seniors and freshman would meet up at someone's house and fight eachother all day with water guns/balloons, mud, condiments, and the list gets nastier. Too bad that tradition was legally stopped from being associated with the school, so it hasn't happened in a year or two (in fact, I think my freshman year was the last time it was allowed to happen).

This year all the seniors (and some juniors too) tuned to the same radio station and put the volume all the way up. Keep in mind, some of these kids have incredible sound systems in their cars. The sound could be heard for miles. The sound of pop music just wouldn't stop...

A senior tradition used to be making graffiti on this tunnel that you go through on the way to school at midnight some night. It used to supported and fun, but some idiot painted something profane, and that right got taken away from us.

We have senior walkouts. That's about it, now...

at our homecoming pep rally, all of the seniors wear togas. the night before, there are mad crazy toga parties. can't wait till next year.

Pajama Day! Usually just one in the fall but we had a second this Tuesday just for fun.

Crushlist Day (today) where all seniors bring in a paper (often decorated) listing all the people in the school they've had crushes on (listed chronologically from frosh year) and put them up on a wall and then later it's put online.

For seniors specifically:
There is a school seal and patch of grass that only senior may step on. There are senior seats in the auditorium, and senior tables.

Seniors have a 100 day countdown to graduation. They have an official beach day. Thye have theiir prank. The juniors even have to plan a senior banquet ( totally crazy and weird stuff goes on here) .

there is also other stuff, but they changed alot of traditions for my senior class. We'll see what happens.

At our school, we have a senior breakfast followed by a senior class trip. We also have the senior skip day thing...but it's not exactly "official". There's also a all night long party the night of graduation. =)

Senior skip day for us is always the Monday after prom. I'd estimate that about 80% of the senior class participates. It's not school sanctioned (far from it), but it's what we do....and it's usually a lot more fun than prom.

our senior skip day is the monday after prom too, and most of the seniors end up going to cedar point that day. Unfortunately i had the ap physics test that day, but ended up getting to go to Cedar Point for physics class anyway

the girls always make senior shirts with quotes and inside jokes from all four years and a big '06 on the front in our school colors. oh im kind of excited to make mine.

Oh and we have the "senior bar", which is an area on the second floor of the school right by the entrance and in front of the Student Union where only seniors are allowed to hang out.

On the seniors' last day, the seniors have this giant paper throw as they leave campus... pretty cool sight actually (would hate to be the poor kids assigned to clean up, though).
