Senior year 1st semester requirements for EA students?

I got admitted for EA program but I did bad during the 1st semester.
weighted GPA is 3.8… and I got 1 C in an AP class.
would that dramatically affect my admission at BC?
I’m so worried right now…

They might think that you caught senioritis. If it is significantly worse than your grades last year or during the beginning of this year (i.e. at least one grade level lower, A to B or B to C), then you should be worried.

If it’s one class, it won’t be a big deal. Plus its in an AP class, so you’re allowed to struggle a bit. Just don’t go below a C. Also if your grades stay somewhat similar you’ll be fine. They only revoke an acceptance letter if your grades drop drastically. (i.e. A to C, in 2 to 3 classes). Worse case senario, they’ll ask you to write a letter explaining why your grades dropped. Just stay focused and you’ll be fine.

i went to the admitted eagles day, and one of the speakers started out with saying something like this:
“well, i bet alot of you are coasting right about now…well, it’s ok to do that, but for your benefit do well in those AP’s those credits will help you in college”

i think as long as your general trend doesnt shift too much, you’ll be fine. i.e. don’t go from straight A’s to straight C’s.

Anyone know if you can get kicked out of the honors program for a couple B’s?

I would say there’s less than a .000001% chance. I’m sure there are plenty of people who got into the honors program with a few B’s.

Do well this second semester for the sake of wisdom rather than to impress admissions. People run into the trap of thinking school is over after senior year when in reality it has just begun. Admissions does not really care about a drop in a few grades, but slacking is a terrible habit to need to break out of your first semester of college.
