Senior Year...choosing classes?

Hello everyone! So there is a scheduling problem with two courses that I really want to take! AP English 4 is taught by the same AP English 3 teacher. She is awesome and we both like each other. I know she will write a glowing recommendation letter senior year. For both reasons I want to take AP Eng 4. However, I also want to become a nurse and it would benefit me to take Allied Health 2 and become a CNA through the course in highschool. This would cause me to take AP English 4 ONLINE!!! UGH! The Allied Health Sciences 2 would also drop my GPA since it is a regular class and is weighted on a 4 scale instead of 6. What do yall think I should do?

Take AP English 4 with the awesome teacher.
Take AP English 4 online and take Allied Health 2 which will drop my GPA and therefore class rank but will benefit me by already having my CNA license which is a prerequisite for some nursing schools.

Unless you are going to be something like valedictorian, weighted GPA does not matter, your curriculum does.

I'm going to say go with the health one.

The "glowing rec" won't matter too much, and I'm sure you can find another teacher that's great - taking it solely b/c of a recommendation for college is pretty silly. And you mention GPA, which isn't going to matter on the long run. This website's full of people that try to boost their GPA by .3 in hopes of becoming a higher rank, but it really won't matter significantly.

Sounds like much of a better deal and a unique opportunity, and benefit both long term and short term IMO. That one "AP title" and "GPA boost" which sounds flashy won't do anything.

I agree with Invoyable.

In addition, your teacher will probably still give you the recommendation even if you're not in her class. One of my recommendations came from a junior-year teacher.

Try to get a studyhall so you can skip it and take a break... You're a senior, lighten up.

Thanks everyone! I feel more confident about taking AP Eng 4 online now and taking Allied Health 2! Yall are awesome!

yeah, i just realized that you're done with your junior year, and you'll still get the "glowing rec" if you ask for it?

Definitely health.

This will be schedule:

----------------First Semester----------Second Semester
First Period----- Allied Health Sciences 2-Allied Health Sciences 2
Second Period---AP Statistics-----------AP Statistics
Third Period-----AP Biology--------------AP Biology
Fourth Period----AP English & Sociology--AP English & Pharmacy Tech

My fourth period will be solely online courses. Pharmacy tech will allow me to be a certified pharmacy technician and the allied health will allow me to be a certified nurse assistant.
