i’m currently a junior with a 4.3 gpa and am now selecting my courses for next year. I need opinions as to what classes i should take if i am aiming to get into a top university (duke is my absolute dream school)
I’m a good student and a hard worker, but i don’t want to be in over my head with all my classes… so anyones experience/opinions about these classes would be appreciated
Thanks!

Courses i am definitely taking are:
Calc AB AP
Chem AP
Spanish 5 AP
Micro/Macro AP

Options

English class: Literature and Psychology Honors vs. Philosophy and Lit Honors (AP English is out of the question, worst class in the high school according to everyone)

Here are my options for my last class:
- Contemporary Issues in Social Sciences Honors
The teacher is absolutely amazing, I had him for AP US History and as an indoor track coach. He’s probably going to write one of my recommendations. The class is mostly discussion based and deals with topics like natural resources and scientific frontiers. I’m really interested in science but im not sure as to how this class may appear on a transcript.

Art History AP
Again, another great teacher. I’m really interested in art and culture, but I don’t know too much about this class.

Stat AP
Math teacher right now recommended me for both Calc AB and Stat. I’m definitely taking Calc, but he says it’d be good to have stat also.

Western/Non-Western Philosophy Honors
Ive heard it’s a great course, it sounds really interesting

American Govt. and Politics AP
Apparently the easiest AP course available in my high school… not really interested though so I dont really know why its up here.
