Hi guys,
I am wondering which AP classes I should take next year.
I am a junior this year, and my schedule is:

Honors Spanish 4
AP Calc AB
AP Chem
AP USH
AP Lit
AP Stats

Based on my schedule right now, which AP classes do you suggest I should take next year to get the highest possible GPA? I don't feel completely overwhelmed yet this year, but I don't really have a lot of time for extra curricular activities. Next year, I want to have enough time for college apps, schoolwork, and 5 hours of sleep a day. I don't want to take all weighted like I am this year because the classes for senior year are much harder, but I also don't want to take too few and show colleges that I'm not continuing my academic rigor senior year.

So, the possible courses I can take next year are:
AP Lang (extremely hard class in my school, most people get B's)
or
English 11

AP Gov and AP micro/macro (need to be taken in conjunction and take up 2 classes)
or
AP Comp. Gov. (this is the first year in our school for this class)
and regular gov/econ
or
regular gov/econ

AP Physics C (very hard class in my school, almost everyone gets 5's, but not alot of A's; I haven't taken physics or honors physics so i would have to waive in)
or
AP Biology
or
both

AP Spanish (hard class in my school)
or
AP Psychology (relatively easy AP class)

My school is a majority Asian super-competitive school, and for many classes the teachers deflate grades so that 95% of the students get 5's on the AP exam but only around 20% of the students get A's...
Taking into account that I suck at Spanish, and I am planning to take 7 classes next year, 2 of which are already decided, what do you recommend I should take next year for the other 5 classes to get the highest GPA while also taking the required English and gov/econ classes?
Any advice will be appreciated, thanks :D

AP Lang, AP Gov and micro/macro, definitely not Physics C, AP Bio, and AP Psych. Saying this as a senior at a magnet sci/tech school with 4 AP tests under my belt. Physics C without at least AP Physics B beforehand is waaay too hard. AP Lang I’m kind of undecided about, but if you can get a B, it’s better to do that then to get an A in english 12 (assuming you meant 12, since you’ll be in 12th grade).

Aha yeah, my bad i meant english 12
also, why wouldn’t you recommend AP Bio? It’s the easiest AP science at my school, and it’s relatively easy to get an A in
On a sidenote, I’d rather get an A in a normal class than a B in an AP class, so would you still recommend AP Lang at all?

I did say AP Bio, its just tucked away in the corner. If you would rather get a 4.0 in a regular class than in an AP, take English 12, but I can tell you that it doesn’t look as good to colleges. Which might not matter to you, and if so go ahead.

Thanks for your response!
Does anybody else have any experience taking any of those classes? (Especially Physics C)
All advice would be appreciated thanks

I would take as many AP classes as possible. It looks great for colleges and you only have to suffer through 1 semester. Out of all the classes you listed, I’ve taken/am enrolled in all of them except Psych and Spanish. Physics C was a hard course and it covered hard material, but it was easy to get an A in my school (I got an A+ second semester). The easiest classes on there that you should definitely take are AP Bio and what seems like Psych, which you say is relatively easy at your school.

Physics C killed my once 4.0 gpa:( I took it as junior, but I had only taken biology courses for science freshman and sophomore year (honors and AP). Lack of exposure to the hard sciences can make this class a black hole. It was very abstract thinking, and I found it very difficult to grasp why certain concepts were valid. If you’ve taken a physical science course, go for AP physics C. If not, take honors physics. My class was taught by a PhD and was so hard that more than half the class got C’s. I don’t know what the environment is like at your school though. Just talk to former students to gage the feeling of the course.

I would suggest asking ppl at your school who are taking ap physics c right now, to see the difficulty of the class, or how it flows, every school is different and every teacher is different, so the difficulty of the class is different.

I’m taking both physics C’s this year (Mech, E&M) without taking any prior physics classes and I’m doing really well so I would definitely recommend it. You should take at least 5 aps but maybe 6. Definitely do both Physics Cs and do AP Lang, AP Bio, AP Psych since you said its easy, and maybe Spanish? just my recommendation

What an overachiever!

But seriously, take AP Biology.
