So before in the fall when I was busy working away on all my college stuff I was excited you know? Like finally after all of this I’m going to be able to do all the hobbies I’ve had to set aside and have wild adventures with my friends! Well I got into my dream school ED and for a week I was on a high all smiles and everything. But then I just spent winter break all alone kind of in my room reading/watching movies all day and generally I’m a very introverted person but still I used to love to go out and explore or whatever and see my friends but I don’t know all of a sudden this depression hit me like theres nothing to do, I hate everybody in my grade all they do is party and get drunk, my friends are great but idk lately I just haven’t been in the mood to see them, and all those hobbies it seems like I don’t have time for at all now because of the midterm exams coming up. The physics 2 ap class im taking is a lot of work and I just cant find the effort. I feel like every single day im just doing the same thing trying to work on something but getting nothing done. Please dont tell me I’m overreacting its already been like a month of this and i dont know how to handle this boredom.
I know what you mean. It’s like…“okay, what now?”. My advice would be that you actually do your best to pursue new hobbies. Once you get over that hump of being introverted it should get a little better. So go out and find stuff to do. See if any bands you like are on tour and convince yourself to invite some friends to go see them. Start exercising everyday. Try different types of exercise (i.e. learn about weight lifting). Start learning something that’s always interested you (coding, art history, etc.). Take what you learn and become a Trivia Crack champion.
As far as getting stuff done, you just have to force yourself to do it. If you don’t, your grades could drop and your admission could be rescinded. Try to stop looking at it as a chore and just as something that you’ve signed up for and are interested in mastering.
Whenever we have breaks I tend to just do nothing because I don’t have to do anything. It gets pretty unhealthy so I have to make myself do things.
Thanks, yeah I always feel better after exercising its just the getting myself motivated part that I’m still working on.
