I signed up to take 5 AP classes, but my counselor is having a hard time accommodating all of them because each is only available for select periods. I have to make a choice between Advanced Business Management (which would leave me with 4 AP classes) and independent study of AP Macro or Spanish 4 (which would allow me to have all 5 AP classes I signed up for). What would be the best choice? I’m applying to several highly selective schools and I want to make sure my senior schedule seems challenging.
Ask your counselor if that choice would make a difference in whether they check off most rigorous schedule or not. That’s what counts.
Agree that you want your counselor to rate your course rigor as ‘most rigorous’, so talk to him or her. If the counselor checks it off in both circumstances, then take whatever you like.
