I’m trying to make my senior year schedule now and I want to go to an ivy league college. I am currently a junior. My current schedule is
- Ap statistics
- ap lit
- Gym
- Ap bio
- Art
- Forensics dual enrollment
Would taking one less class in my schedule hurt my chances? Would not taking ap us history hurt my chances?
is your counselor going to check the box “most rigorous schedule” with what you have planned above? If not, forget about an Ivy.
Know, too, that the most selective colleges consider your ECs, essays, letters of rec, gpa, scores. It isn’t as if with one more class you magically get in to an elite school.
So if I have all of what you said but I don’t take that class it won’t be the reason I do or dont get in?
Correct. If you don’t take the class and get rejected, I can say with 99.999% certainly that you would not have been accepted simply because you too the class.
The most important thing to do is talk to your GC and ask if this schedule is most rigorous? If not, you probably will not get accepted into an Ivy, unless you have something else incredible going for you.
