Seniors: AP Classes/Exams you wish you'd taken

^
(I am in Texas too, btw)
The required Gov + Eco isn’t too bad since you can do them AP, but the required world geography is quite annoying to take. I’m not sure how they could change it though. (Students definitely need map literacy, I’m not sure if it could be cut down to a semester without being pure map memorization though)

What I took:
AP US History
AP Biology
AP Calculus BC
AP Gov
AP Macro
AP Physics B
AP Psychology
AP French
AP English Lit

I think I didn’t take only two of the APs my school offered–one was AP Spanish (didn’t take Spanish), and the other was AP English Language (didn’t see the point of taking if I took Lit), but I wouldn’t go back and take those even if I could. The only APs I would potentially have taken would be WHAP or Euro, to get out of a general ed. requirement. The others wouldn’t have helped me any.

And @garfieldliker: that’s not entirely true. We don’t take California history in high school, but we have at least a year of it in elementary school. ;)

Elementary school? I don’t recall learning about it, but that’s probably because it was when Bush was in his first term.

I’m not going to be a senior but I’m done with APs so I might as well just post anyways.

Art History, Comp Sci A, and Latin were ones I’ve always wanted to take. I’d like another go at Physics C too, a possible 2 doesn’t feel too great.

A 2? I seriously doubt it, since the C exams have such a generous curve. I think 33% of the raw points is enough for a 3.

I seriously underestimated E&M and probably earned 0 on the free response. So I’m hoping for a 3 because I got maybe half the MC right.

How’d you do on Mech?

Hmm, if you’re right, you got 1/4 of the points, which is not enough for a 3 unless the curve goes down by a few points(which is certainly possible, given how everyone was talking about how they got raped).

^Hmm…my friends who took both the Mechanics and E&M thought that Mechanics was harder, comparatively, but I think they were adequately prepared for both.

I took the late exams, so I have no idea of the regular exams, except for the FRQ.

Took:
AP US Government
AP US History
AP Chemistry
AP Psychology
AP Calculus BC
AP Statistics
AP Computer Science A
AP English Literature

Wish I took:
AP French
Both AP Econs
AP Physics C (I tried self-studying mechanics, but I decided not to register for the exam because I knew I wasn’t prepared. I wish my school had offered them…)
I guess AP Bio, just for the college credit, not because I’m interested much.

I can’t say I regret leaving certain AP classes out of my schedule. I took the classes that I was interested and was not a student that took AP classes just because I could potentially earn college credit.

Took:
AP World History
AP Statistics
AP US History
AP English Language
AP English Literature
AP Calculus AB
AP Macroeconomics
AP US Government and Politics
AP Chemistry
AP Physics B

Wish I’d Taken:
AP Spanish Language (My school doesn’t offer the class anymore though I got full credit from a placement test that was on the level of my Spanish 2 class)
AP Biology (I hate bio, but my major requires it)
AP Physics C (My major only gives credit for C, not B)
AP Calculus BC (not offered at my high school)

My school doesn’t offer very many AP courses. Asterisks indicate classes not offered.

Took:
AP English Language and Composition
AP Studio Art: 2-D Design

Wish I’d Taken:
AP Art History (Instead of Studio Art. In general I feel that I would have gotten more from this.)
AP Government and Politics*
AP Psychology*
AP World History*
AP Human Geography*

@garfieldliker: I took late Mechanics and E&M as well. E&M was harder for me; we do it semester 2 in IB also so it wasn’t covered as detailedly. I’ve seen the curves for both over the past year, and it looks likely I’ll get a 4 Mech and 2/3 E&M.

Took:
AP US History
AP English Language
AP English Literature
AP Biology
AP Calculus AB
AP Calculus BC (School offers them as a Calc 1 and 2, You take AB one year then take BC the next)

Wish I’d Taken:
AP Chemistry (School doesn’t offer it)
AP Physics C (School doesn’t offer it)
AP Statistics (Didn’t work with my schedule)
AP World History (School doesn’t offer it)

Took / Will Take Next Year:
AP Human Geography
AP World History
AP US History
AP English Literature
AP Psychology
AP Biology
AP Spanish
AP Statistics

So those are the ones I am sure I am taking. The following are ones I want to if I am allowed to self-study them:
AP Language and Composition
AP Calculus AB
AP Macroeconomics
AP US Government

^ I don’t think there EXISTS any thing such as ‘AP Mechanics’ and ‘AP Electricity and Magnetism.’ Maybe I’m just ignorant? LOL please someone tell me…

Took/Will Take Next Year:
Calc BC
Chem
USH
Euro
Bio
Phys B
Eng Lang
World
Human Geo
Phys C Mech
Phys C EM
Env Sci
Psych
Comp Sci
English Lit
US Gov
Comp Gov
French
Stats
Macro
Micro

The only remaining exams are foreign languages, which I don’t wish for since I already have one, Music Theory(which my school has, but I know nothing about music so I’m not even qualified to take the class), Studio Art(I’d fail those exams), and Art History, which i would take if my school offered it.

It’s AP Physics C they’re talking about- different Physics C exams, there’s a few of them.

Took:
Chem
Bio
Physics C - Mechanics
Calculus BC
English Language
Spanish Language
Spanish Lit
Microecon
Macroecon
Government and Politics

I may have taken a few more, but I just woke up :P

Wish I had taken:
Physics E&M
Statistics

These were offered at my school as self-studies for the first time this year, but I didn’t have the time to take them. Really wish I had, because I will now be taking both in college! OH, and I could have owned Music Theory, but that’s sort of not useful for credits…it still is a way fun test, though. I did practice ones with my friends!
