Seniors applying ED?

Anyone from the Class of 08' who is going to apply ED with me?

Quick Question: I'm a recruited athlete, but I haven't told the coach that I'm going to apply ED yet. Are there any steps I need to take or should I just call and let him know?

Do you plan on scheduling an interview with admissions during the application season? You might contact him and see if you could meet him when you come to Pomona for the interview. You could let him know then.

Yes I am applying Ed!!

I would say just call the coach and let him know!!

I have already met the coach, but I think I might do an overnight?

I was thinking of doing an alumni interview in Portland, OR. When should I call the admissions office to schedule it?

You could call the admissions office and ask about the out of state alumni interview proceedures. Have you been on the campus yet? If you do an overnight with the team while on campus interviews are being held, it might be to your advantage to schedule one of those instead. But you should definitely ask someone in admissions.

What sport, skyhawk? Also, what constitutes a "recruited" athlete in D3? Do you mean the coach made the initial contact with you, or that he returned your inquiry and sounded interested?

I'm pretty sure that coaches at a D3 school are not allowed to make initial contact (from what I was explained when I talked to coaches there)
I would certainly let the coach know, though. Mine actually strongly requested that I apply ED1 since coaches can put in a request over at admissions for athletes.
There was a series of articles written over a few months a little while back on this subject at the website for The Student Life campus newspaper that you may want to check out

Thanks for the suggestion to look at The Student Life. Those articles were pretty interesting!
