Sent ED Application Thread!

I'm a parent and I believe you. Although I liked the admit/deny system for my son--as deferral can be agonizing--ED applicants deserve a second look.

I think if deferred, I would die of anicipation. I'm with sparkycircuit, I'd rather know and have my pity party lol.

Do you know which admissions officer? Was it Margaret Miranda?

^ I know exactly what youre talking about. I can't stand waiting, not even till Dec. 15 much less April!

ColdWind,

Last year, I didn't see a single CC member that got deferred. So it's pretty safe to assume that was the case for the last cycle.

NU is notorious for not keeping the latest change/stats updated in their admission webpage. Their FA page (under admission) still says nothing about the Founders scholarship. So even if there's a change this year, nobody would know by just browsing their webpage.

Anyone get any kind of login info or anything? I've been constantly checking email and mail to see if they sent a way to check our status, but unfortunately I'm not at home now, so kind of hard to check snail mail.

I've heard some say logins should be sent via email anytime after November 30?

I'm checking daily too..

Anybody know if the nerds who submitted a paper application will get logins too? =)

^ I think you should, if you included it on your application. If not an email, definately a snail mail login. It'd be weird to not have the online option for paper applicants, makes it more convenient.

Oh, I'm sure you will. I think what they do with online apps is they print it out and read them so its no different than getting an app in the mail. They load all the stuff (decisions, application materials, etc.) on their system so it'll be the same.

Thanks for the reassurance. =)

Now if only they'd SEND it...I thought it'd be today.

sainclaire i had the EXACT same problem with Collegeboard! it's their error. i just hope this doesn't loom over me if my RD applications roll around and they still aren't sending them properly.

Is it possible NU won't be doing log-ins this year? Honestly, I'd like to come home, check the mail-box, and see either a big or small envelope.

^^ I'm sure they'll still send out letters of acceptance/rejection. Log-ins are just an easier/faster way to find out, you can probably ignore the option and wait for the letter if you want.

lol, see I'm one of those people who will obsessively check, I have NO patience, so if I get a log in I'll most likely use it...oops.

Same same. I'm practically living on Northwestern's website, refreshing the Applicant Services page every so often.

I'm so jealous of my friends who actually have logins and can check. WHYY, NU??? ><

I am so sick of waiting! It's not fair that NU is like the only school without an online status check!

sainclaire: I'm hoping those friends didn't apply to NU? lol, cause then I'd feel like even more of a nervous wreck for not getting a login.

I'm so nervous... I almost don't want to know, it's weirddd. Ughhh.

Oh, no, they're applying to different colleges. I doubt anyone got a login; heck, there isn't even a login page yet.

I want to know asap so I can decide whether to slack off now or later, haha. That and a decision will decide if i need to write those supplemental essays for my RD colleges. Please early next week....

Same here, I'm so nervous I almost don't want to know.... Or do those RD supplements. Honestly, I can't even think about them right now, too focused on NU.

Yes, NU is deferring this year for the first time.
