Serious Concern

Man, I don’t know if it’s seniorities or just dang hard…
but i’m doing really bad this 2nd semester.

How hurtful is 1B and 2 Cs? Is that hurtful enough to rescind my app or go on probation at college?

i’m trying so hard to bring it up and but AP Gov and AP Calc BC are really killing me right now???

any advice or comments? thanks!! //////

It isn't HORRID but it's not great. I'm kind of in the same situation :-(. And I've been getting the same thoughts!! We are in the SAME boat.

Here's the deal. No, they will not rescind your application if your year-long averages are C's. If one is a D, it could raise Question, but usually not enough to rescind. Now, if more than one of your classes are significantly below par, they may infact rescind. I am also in AP Gov, and I had a D+ right now, it is BY FAR the hardest class i have ever taken, and people that say it's a joke are just downright rediculously arrogant. I think for me (maybe for you) it's a teensy part senioritis but i was gone for 18 days at college auditions (hard to make up work) and even when i do study for the tests i fail. i just don't get the collegeboard format. So, I feel for you. no worries.

Now, you know what you're doing and what you aren't. If you are trying as hard as you possibly can and ur still getting the grades you're getting (which is my case,) then you can't change it. If, however, seinoritis caught upw ith you and you couldn't care less, it's not good for the freshman year of college b/c you lose work-ethic. I think it's all going to work out, we'll be ok :P (and ap is probably a horrible option in senior year :D)

I really doubt that your application will be rescinded. B's and C's are not failing grades.

Oh my God, I've been worried as hell about this too! I'm afraid I might have a D in AP Calc BC this quarter (I had B- the first two quarters). If I can pull off a C and maybe get back into the B's for the 4th quarter do you think I'll be okay?

It's like even if I get into one of my dream schools my worrying still won't be over!

i'm facing the same problem.

aww! it's ok. we're all intelligent or at least halfway there haha (like me.) I have never gotten below an 86 ish in high school then this horrid 68% D comes along :-'( in AP Gov. I feel for all of you it'll be ok i hope (and i too had b-'s)

alright thanks guy.... i hope you guys are all RIGHT! haha

ya, it's half seniorities that i don't reallllly care to bring it up BUT the material is getting so freaking hard i'm dying!! ahhh

AP CALC AB was a breeze but BC is just dang hard... and that AP GOV class.... :(

hoopefully i'll bring it up to at least B-///

I am a freshman at Brown and I have the answer to your question. I was admitted early and had an extremely bad case of senioritis. I had 2 C's and got B's in most my classes. I had no motivation to work at the time. They didn't rescind my acceptance, but I received a warning letter.
