Set study time

How much do you study each day? My college did a survey of how much incoming freshman plan to study and a lot of people answered 10 hours or less a week...

I have class from 8-10:50 M-F and I have English TR at 2:00-3:15 and Psychology on Wednesday from 5:00-7:45.

So I have plenty of time to study, but when will be the best time? I will more than likely do a lot of my studying in the library (its 5 floors with lots of nooks and crannies).

Studying is overrated. If you go to every class, sit in the front and listen to what the professor has to say w/ genuine interest, you will cut your study time by a lot.

Many people I've spoken to get very anxious before their first college test and over study or study only the notes(as opposed to the diagrams, research reviews in the book).

I dont study very much for the first test for any given class. Its more of a feeler to get a sense of what future exams are going to ask.

"the library (its 5 floors with lots of nooks and crannies)"

...were we talking about places to study or public places to have sex?

Study...duh. There are a lot of hidden spots in the library which allow for very quiet, private study spaces.

Can you figure anything out on your own?

"Can you figure anything out on your own?"

"...but OKgirl, that would take thinking and personal accountability!"

"...but OKgirl, that would take thinking and personal accountability!"

"And you totally don't need to know how to do that for college AHLH"

AHLH....everyone is anxious to start college and have lots of questions, which is good. But your questions tend to be specific to you and your school or schedule, which nobody else can really answer. Nobody knows how demanding your classes will be with that schedule, how much time your activities will take up, what your study habits are really like, etc.

The best advice I can give you, to put it bluntly, is calm down. College is a learning experience--trial and error. Try something you think you'll like for a week or two and if it's not working, change it. If you worry about making mistakes or doing the wrong thing all the time, you'll have a miserable college experience.
