Setting as a Credit/NonCredit- for Art history Class

My goal is transferring to UCB this fall as a science major.
(already applied and my GPA is 4.0 so far)

I'm taking Art History class right now- which is winter section- for IGETC req.
This isn't that hard class but, I have to write 10 essays for this class.. and I'm kinda tired cauz I'm also taking other class/

Would it be okay to set this class as a Cr or nCr class and just get a
'pass' on my transcript?
I mean, will I get any disadvantage for having 'Credit' other than letter grade?

Also, I have no W's and I took all the classes as a letter grades so far. So, if i take this class as a Cr/nCr class, this will be the only class I'm taking this way.

Having Credit/nCredit for Art History class won't that matter
( + since you're a science major, they won't care about taking art history class as a Cr/nCr)

vs.

Although it's an Art History class, you will have a disadvantage of taking Credit/nCredit for UC transferable class

What do you guys think?

As long as it is not a major prerequisite it is fine to a couple credit/no credit courses. However many graduate programs look at credit/no classes as C's.

I contacted Berkeley regarding this question many months ago and they told me that it is ok to take up to 12 units of cr/ncr classes as long as they are not a prerequisite for your major. I'm sure you will be fine.

Thanks . i'll just go for cr/ncr safely.
