I'm taking all AP Courses last semester plus journalism. (8 classes total)

Unfortunately, I got 4 B's for my semester report card.

I used to be ranked 13th in the country of 10,000+ people and 4th in the school. I am now ranked top 16 in the County, and 5th in the School.

How much will getting 4 B's on the midyear report affect my chances for say...

Princeton, Harvard, heck all the Ivy Leagues, U Chicago, Duke, Rice, etc?

Thank you for your input.

I don’t understand your rank in the country or county but your rank in school didn’t alter too much. I’m in the same position since my grades slipped senior year

so rest assured many people got lower grades during their senior year. You are taking all AP classes which is difficult. I remember a Stanford adcom told me that an B in an AP class is better than an A in a regular class, because it shows you are challenging yourself and not taking the easy route. There’s nothing you can change, but if it is really bothering you, tell your GC to write something about WHY your grades slipped. Don’t worry you still have a chance, after the initial shock and anger just understand that people with Bs do get in.

Opps, I meant county… not country.

And thanks a lot for the advice!
