severance anyone?

So I was placed in a triple in severance, and I was wondering if anyone could tell me the pros and cons of severance. how's the food? how big are the triples generally? thanks everybody.

Hi there...actually, I visited Wellesley and I stayed at Severence the night I stayed over. The food was...er...ok. But I might be a little wrong since I was there only for one night. My dorm was also not exactly the most desirable. It was located in the basement. So, I suspect your experience will be must more pleasant! Enjoy it!The dining hall is pretty though and some people just go eat there in their pjs

Severance is in the Tower Court complex, which is very close to the academic quad and the main library. It's also quite close to the campus center and the sports center. There's a very nice (grassy) beach just down the hill from the dorm. The bathrooms were fixed up a few years ago, so they're pretty nice.

The dining hall is technically in Tower Court, but the buildings are connected by a dining hall on the Severance side. No going outside to get to breakfast! Tower is one of the best dining halls on campus, but be sure to branch out early on to learn what the variety is like.

In general, first-year rooms in the older dorms are pretty small, so don't bring anything more than the basics for your room. There's a Target, Wal-Mart, and a mall a short drive away (a shuttle runs to the mall and Target on Saturdays) to pick up anything you and your roommates decide to buy.

Severence is a rather desireable dorm, especially for upperclasswomen. It would be interesting to see stats from the housing office on what the most popular dorms are, by year and current location. The biggest downfall is that if you live on the side overlooking Severence Green, you will proabably hear sledders during winter about 24 hours a day (some people enjoy sledding at 4:00 am). Otherwise, you are in a decent location in a pretty part of campus.

Severence is directly attached to the Tower dining room which is open on weekends. Your mileage on the food depends on your personal opinion of food in general. I consider myself to be a picky eater (as do my parents), but my friends are amazed that I am happy with the "entree" almost all the time.

People rag on the Severence basement, though it was renamed "the dungeon of fun". It's what you make of it really.
