My D would like to study atmospheric science (not meteorology) and is interested in severe storms. What are the undergrad schools that fit this narrowed variation of atmospheric science? Also, what may be another undergrad path to then get her into the correct grad schools given her field of study?
The University of Utah has a major in Atmospheric Sciences (https://advising.utah.edu/majors/quick-look/atmospheric-sciences.php) for “Students with interest in severe weather…”
Check out programs at the University of Colorado - Boulder and NOAA.

Students interested in graduate study in atmospheric science should consider undergraduate majors in physics or mathematics with electives in geosciences/meteorology and inorganic chemistry.
Atmospheric Science at Cornell is top notch and Upstate NY deals with severe thunderstorms and lake effect snow. http://ccams.eas.cornell.edu/
Thank you all very much for taking the time here. It is greatly appreciated.
