Sex And The City

So, basically, you are a member of the republican party? Do you listen to WPIT?
And you voted for President Bush, most likely? Ah okay.
I prefer Tupac.

I'm in high school, how can I vote? I said I WOULD HAVE chosen him over kerry, but not over gore. I liked Gore in 2000. He shoulda won.

And it's excellent to know you like Makaveli over some fat mess :)

Machiavelli, OVB.

So, Sex and the City, anyone?

I'll just come out and say I'm independent. Parties always change in their ideologies, but ideologies never change themselves unless twisted or modified by others.

uh, Mallomar, Makaveli is what 2pac called himself. This just solidifies my argument about SATC fans...

;)

OVB- I am a staunch believer in the two-party system. I disagree with what you said. Yes, parties change, but that is because the people change. Changes in the people's ideologies always precede changes in the party's ideologies.
Again, must I keep repeating myself, SATC is an amazing show. You can keep saying what you want, but I know plenty of people who are intelligent who watch SATC. Your argument is simple-minded and a raucious generalization. I will tell you that I myself am very intelligent. I love to learn and play two instruments. Yes, some SATC fans may be dim-witted, but so can some Chappelle fans. For instance, my brother is a Chappelle fan. He smokes pot and gets drunk every night, but do I accuse you of that just because you enjoy Chappelle? No. Because I understand that human beings are very complicated individuals, and since millions of Americans have cable, anyone, anywhere might turn on the TV and decide he likes one of these shows.

I thought this discussion ended. It's quite obvious that if my arguments about TV shows were sincere, then I would be in over my head (I have never even seen a minute of SATC rofl, I just see the commercials from time to time). I just like to see people's reactions once in a while. You were the unfortunate victim this time. :D

Ideologies do not change on their own. They are etched in stone. Once it's created, it can't disappear. It can be modified and renamed something else, but it's never destroyed.

Parties change all the time. 100 years ago Democrats were the KKK supporters who hated black people and Republicans stood up for the blacks. After FDR, black people started to support Democrats and now the majority of african americans are Democrats.

You're making the common mistake of labeling ideologies as those that the MAJORITY OF PEOPLE believe in. Just because 100 million people don't buy into an ideology doesn't mean there's anything inferior about it.

I cannot believe I am even having this conversation about ideologies; it should be obvious to anyone who studied any history dating back to the end of the middle ages that ideologies are constant and can still exist today, and people can still belong to them without aligning themselves with parties, whose agendas and tenets change faster than my best mile time.

Once again, you're attempts to misconstrue my joking around as narrow-mindedness are not going to make me have any qualms about my "bad e-behavior". Do you want me to go on "e-time out" or something? ROFL

OVB-

First, I must ask you to stop cluttering up my threads with your needless gibber-gabber.

Second, an ideology is merely a strain of ideas, I never said or implied anything to the contrary.

Third, yes I am quite aware of the history of our political parties. I said that party's changed their platforms, all the time. The Republican Party used to be the party of freed slaves and the party of Lincoln. And yes, the Democrats used to be those middle-aged cigar-smoking, slave-holding "pompous" business-men in the South. Now it is the party of diversity, the party of choice, and will be the party of our next President. (I'm sure you will try to tear that to pieces, but I don't care what you say, it will be)

I don't really feel like a victim, I am a strong, self-sufficient human being. (Now here's your cue to tell me I use an authoritative tone to cover up my own female-insecurities...whatever)

Truly Yours,
Bendy

OVB- You said "ideologies...are etched in stone"

So, men still think they are superior to women? Women still think they are worthless if they don't fulfill their eternal biological role? The Feminist movement, including the second wave in the 60s and 70s has made the world a very differnet place for women. The "career" woman is no longer evil, she's no longer accused of just asserting her *****-envy, as defined by Freudian thought.

I think to an extent the statement you made might hold true, but it's largely an over-simplification. I use the feminist movement(s) in the US, East Asia, Europe to soldify my point.

I believe that although their is change in the world their will always be the person who sticks to his/her ideals and morals. That being said, when another wave of generation spawns, then you see cultural diffrences from the diffrent generations. Isnt this called a generation gap???? Anyways, an example would be old people, although somewhat vague, they act much diffrent from the eye of the modern beholder.(maybe because of ww2) Anyone catch my drift?

no, I couldn't concentrate on what you were saying because of all the misspellings and grammatical errors.

wow I just read my response and I must be tired or something because your completely right my grammar sucks in that response. (off day :( ) Anyways no need to be critical. Behind the grammar errors lies a point im conveying,

I loved the show.. I was seriously thinking of killing Kim after knowing that she kinda blew up the chance of STC being made as a movie.

However, I think we all should be aware of the show is not real. Everything on the show was made up. Plus, I don't think the four women who have so different thoughts and life styles to one another could have that good relationship each other.

The show is entertaining to say the least -- but I feel that too many girls take it too seriously. It's like watching a chick flick with a girl you like. You simply can't compare to the scripted perfection of the male love interest on-screen -- it's one of those things where the girl sort of stares at you but doesn't really say anything, but you know that in the back of her mind she's going, "Why am I with THIS dude right now?"

Yeah avoid SATC if you're male and have a girl in the vicinity, unless you're either famous, or a rich NYC investment banker with a foot-long "third leg" possessing an affinity for art/music/expensive housing/cars/fancy parties and come from an Ivy League school. I only wish I were kidding... watch the show sometime and get a load of the kind of guys these chicks drool over :p Haha

Entourage > Sex in the City.

we- what was all the drama with kim anyway? it seems like the other three didn't like her in real life?

chances please: don't worry, bendrum loves to *****. It's like it's in her blood :D.

Ideologies remain etched in stone, lady. It's the people (in numbers and character) who subscribe to them changing all the time. If I state that Bendy-ism is a belief system where bendrumfront is the enemy of the state, and that SATC is a despicable show, it's a (****ed up) ideology. It wont change. Although if everyone gets brainwashed, its popularity will.

Therefore, the views of women you mention completely argue in my favor. So let me re-quote DMX:

MIND YOUR BUSINESS LADY

You're like talking to a wall, has anyone ever told you that? In the face of so much evidence to the contrary, you stubbornly insist that you are right. You are not right.

Good Bye et Bon Nuit!
