Which school would be the best for the sociology major? I have absolutely no clue... this is just in case CSUs accept spring 2011.. Everything is so tentative it's frustrating me a little. Any thoughts?

I think SFSU and SJSU would be about equal, and both above CSU East Bay. As far as UNSWR Sociology graduate rankings go, none of the three are on the list.

I agree. SFSU and SJSU are both preferred and about equal. I say you visit both before deciding.

Thanks guys. Where do you get your statistics?!

I also based my response on my overall knowledge of the Cal States.

I’m a sociology major at SFSU and I love it. I’ve also gone to UCSD and several community colleges for sociology and SFSU is the right place for me. It depends what you’re into, though. I’m very interested in gender relations and human sexuality as it applies to sociology, so SF is definitely the place to be! Just check SFSU and SJSU out and see which one you like best. As for CSUEB… no one even knows where it is… and it’s not as well regarded.

I’m so glad I re-found my topic!

OMG are you serious?! I just sent in my SIR to SFSU for this coming Spring 2011 last week… I’ve lived in SF before so I sort of chose familiarity over SJ. I have a feeling I’m all sociology next semester… hope I get the classes though.

Mind telling me which teachers to avoid or worth it? I’ve taken two socio classes at my community college but I think only the intro class will be articulated as said by assist.
