One of my son's friends found this, and i thought we could all use some comic relief. (My favorite is Titus Andronicus.)

LOL!

jkellynh, thank your son for sharing! One of my Ds is a Shakespeare nut and currently in rehearsals for a production of A Midsummer NIght’s Dream so I’ll be forwarding this to her. :)

I forwarded to EVERYONE! Especially my H who can’t be bothered with the Cliff Notes and says it takes him 3 times to even begin to understand the performances. He’ll be thrilled.

Outstanding!!! Haha!

Who knew that it was all so simple, right?

My Shakespeare monologue was from Titus Andronicus, so this cracked me up! I can’t tell you how many times I cringed while toiling through the reading of it.

My S did Titus the summer after his junior year…it’s like a slasher movie, so much blood. What part did you do Nomester? Tamora or Lavina?

My D was in “The complete works of William Shakespeare abridged” and was in the scene that sums up Titus Andronicus. It was a riot of wounded characters missing body parts…

^And involves a parody of that tv chef (Emeril?), right? Wielding a cleaver and yelling “Bam!” :)

I did Tamora! “Have I not reason, think you, to look pale?..”

I also got to be in Shakespeare Abridged at theatre camp, but I did the Romeo and Juliet scene. I played Daniel who took on all of the Romeo lines, and the prince, the nurse, the chef… It was pretty intense to memorize over 70 lines in Elizabethan language in 2 days, but the audience was rolling with laughter! It’s still one of my favorite roles even though it was just one scene.

It sounds like fun.

I don’t remember any bams. She was a sickeningly sweet housewife type with a ghoulish side…
