Share athletic results now?

Ok, I'm back (for those of you who remember me...hi! :) )
Anyway, my daughter has applied to 3 schools and we feel she has a good chance at all three. She recently has had some great success in her winter sport and wondered what you all thought about sharing that with admissions now? I can't remember what the conventional wisdom is about that these days.

Thanks!

Hi Linda S! I think it couldn’t hurt to send an email to admissions, preferably the person who interviewed her.

With only 16 days to March 10th, I presume that the admissions committees are hard at work. If you count backwards for the record keeping and office work which must go on, they may be almost done. (Please, no one panic! It’s only my opinion.)

If her file is hovering between “accept” and “waitlist,” it could make a difference, I’d think. If I were you, if I didn’t contact admissions, I’d kick myself if my daughter weren’t accepted.

Thanks Periwinkle. I was kind of thinking the same thing.

Share it with the Varsity coach in her sport at the BS’s as well via her HS coach. It won’t hurt.

linda s - I’ve been mulling over the same thing. Both new sport and music accomplishments for my kiddo. Been debating whether to have him email his interviewers. It’s tough when you try to raise your kids to be humble to have them “boast” about their successes!

I don’t see it as boasting. I see it as confidence. Your child has to be their own cheerleader. There is nothing wrong with it as long as the information is truthful and not inflated. Competition is tough.

She is in a sport that has specific individual results, so it would be sharing those.
Thanks!
