Yes. They made that very clear at Pace: if you weren’t called back, you were out of contention. Congratulations on your other callback!

@PrincessFiFi Just realizing that my response to this never posted!

My daughter ended up doing exactly what you mentioned…changing pieces as she walked into the audition room, learned a song the night before Unifieds and then sang yet a different song excerpt for each auditor that asked for one. She wasn’t fazed by it in the least, she had a really good response from both her on campus auditions and at Unifieds. She had a ball! Good news is that so far she has been accepted to 8 programs, and rejected from one that she ended up not enjoying the audition process at all, so that didn’t hurt so bad. Waiting on responses fromt he rest of the schools…and then the task of choosing!

Wow, that’s fantastic, @Mandy6045 ! Your D is a trouper!

My D heard Pace BFA Acting calls are starting Sunday (3/6). A friend of hers got an MT call and passed along the info. Being involved in this process is a bit like playing telephone BUT here’s hoping!

@artskids So did the friend just get the MT call today, or was that from last week? Thanks! And great info for all the BFA Acting auditioners!

@stagedoormama her friend was in the initial round of MTs called - I believe she got her call last Sunday.

Thanks!

I would imagine it was difficult for Pace because you have kids (like my D) who applied for MT, BFA Acting and BA Acting. They have to pull all of those kids out and figure out where best they belong. Thanks for the info.

AND Guthrie calls to start Monday!

Just saw that message. @artskids - was your daughter at callbacks?

@bfahopeful My D was in a show. MUCH to my dismay and against my best parental advice, she sent in a videotaped audition. I thought the wiser course of action would have been send in your understudy. But teenagers hear this :-@

haha artskids! So true! To be honest, I bet the videotape was fine. The faculty didn’t do much with the kids outside of the actual audition. Current BFA students ran all the workshops while the faculty did individual auditions. They did do some sort of activity with them on Sunday - but my daughter said they didn’t do any type of interview or anything with them. So, I am sure she is fine. Good luck to her.

Thanks @bfahopeful ! And to your D. Another girl from my D’s HS went to the weekend. She really enjoyed staying with the students and getting an inside out look at the program. Ah well. It will be what it will be at this point!

Pace Acting calls happening now. My D is siting with friends. Two of them (one male one female) have received calls. She has not (yet?) but sent me a text to tell me her friends have!

Hope they leave messages. All the kids I know waiting are in/at a show at school tonight. Although (as I posted on a different thread) I read on a facebook post that one girl called the school directly today and was told the calls/letters can go out anytime over the next month. They do it in little groups, one group at a time. (for Pace)

It’s interesting - my D attends a PA HS. She is with her classmates now at another friend’s show. So far, my D is the only one of their group who had a callback at Pace NOT to get called (of the 6 who auditioned for Pace, 3 had c/bs - 2 got called tonight - she’s #3…and feeling weepy). She was texting me at intermission so maybe she’ll have a voice mail waiting for her!

Fingers crossed!

@artskids - I hope so! My D also goes to a PA HS and we know several that also auditioned at Pace, although most for MT. We only know of two kids that went for acting. Nobody we know has gotten a call yet. Fingers crossed that some of them will and fingers crossed for your daughter,. We have had the same situation with other schools (some getting callbacks or admissions and others being rejected or hearing nothing…I sympathize!). Keep us posted and tell her that they make the calls for several weeks.

@bfahopeful I let her know. My S was wait listed (and subsequently admitted) BFA MT Pace 2 years ago. His calls did not come when the bulk of CC folks were getting calls. In fact, I got the “off the waitlist” call - for some reason they called his back up ## (mine). Kinda funny. I’d love to so college again

Did you son end up going to Pace? I really liked the school when we visited. Good vibes.
