Whew. We were all going crazy waiting for D to choose!

She will be majoring in Linguistics and English. Hopefully the delay won’t preclude Honors housing.

I am just so glad the college application process is over!

:) My mom is, too! She's finally accepting that I'm going away, but she's happy for me! Does your D know which honors dorm in which she'd like to live?

I want to be the second to Congratulate you on your D's decision. Good Choice

Im stilling deciding so yeah...

Go Buckeyes.

She'll still get honors housing. I didn't decide until late April, and I got my first choice dorm.

Just get your $100 in soon to hold your place. We haven't heard anything from housing yet, and we committed pretty early. I'm sure there is still time.

Yay! Congrats! I'm dying for the process to be over, too. It's between one school and OSU, and I'll find everything out on the last day of March.

Either way, I'm glad to hear she is becoming a Buckeye.

Zac, I thought you already committed to OSU. Having second thoughts?

No, I've always been torn. OSU has always been the one that's making me reconsider the school I've thought was my first choice, hehe. I'd be very happy to be a Buckeye, and I think once I have a final decision from the other school I'll know for sure what I'm going to do.

Honors housing contracts were mailed last week. Out of state may have taken a couple of extra days. I would guess it should be received with the next few days.

I received a sample housing contract, OH MOM. That may be what you're referring to. It was just to show us how to make sure we sign up Honors housing as a priority.

Brit, I realized never answered your question. I think D likes the tower set-up but we were a little concerned that some of the kids might be put in overflow tower housing in the other one that is not honors.

Her second choice is the 2 room, 4 people, single bath set up. She came to an Honors sleepover and that was the room style.

What are you leaning toward?

I'm not sure, but I doub they'll room Honors kids in Morrill. If you were speaking of Taylor, I can see your concern, though. For the most part, I believe Siebert& bradley will fill first, because they're on South, which is where most freshman think they want to live since it's known as the partying side of campus.

My order is Lincoln-Taylor-Bradley right now. I'll just be honest. I'm spoiled, and I need accomodations as close to the privacy of home as possible. :P

Mary - I don't know what you mean, if the overflow kids would be put in Lincoln or if it would fill up fast, but I know people who turned in housing apps past the deadline and got in to Lincoln. Of course, I also know people who turned it in past the deadline and got stuck in Scholars housing for a program they didn't even know about before they came to OSU. So I wouldn't recommend waiting until the last minute.

Overflow kids are not put in Lincoln Tower in past years, that's all I know. But of course, if we have a much higher percentage of students enroll at OSU, that could be different this year. I hear they no longer guarantee Honors housing for Honors students, so be sure to get your contract in early. Don't worry too much, though, as there are always many students who forget about it until OSU makes the friendly reminder of "you currently have no place to live, turn in your contract please!"
