Some of that is luck.
In my school more than a few people got 235+ and 2350+
The last few points on the SAT is just luck

She’s clearly not that smart if she felt the need to take both tests, even though she got a perfect score.

I redact that statement if she took them in the same month. But, even then, it’s clear that she didn’t need to take both.

She’s ruining my chances :P

My mom showed me this, except it was a Chinese article on a Chinese website.

I redact that statement if she took them in the same month. But, even then, it’s clear that she didn’t need to take both.

Heck why not… although nowadays almost all schools accept both, some schools prefer one or the other. Getting a 2400 on the SAT would not stop me from spending 2 hours and 40$ for another go at the ACT.

She’s asian.

That’s a big surprise.

If she took the ACT first, then the PSAT, then the SAT for NMS, it would make sense.

She’s asian.

That’s a big surprise.

At the really really high percentiles, you’d be surprised to see how many of them are non-asian.

There’s a point where no amount of hard work will work…

She is sharp as a tack. Luck had nothing to do with those scores. She probably would have scored the same if each test had 10 more questions.

It is about concentration to answer all the questions correctly.Damn, sometimes I make 4 errors on CR ,sometimes 14.It so much about luck

haha saying that it is “no surprise” she is asian and that it was “luck” are lame attempts at belittling her accomplishment. this is really incredible and the fact that she scored perfectly on all three should suffice to prove it was not luck. Congratulations to her! she also seems quite modest, which is nice.

Seriously, at such a high score, +/- 100 points or so probably doesn’t mean much. I mean (not to be bragging or anything) but when I look at the mistakes I made on the PSAT, I know exactly why I got them wrong; it wasn’t that I didn’t know how to do them, they were just mistakes due to time constraints or loss of concentration.
But she should still be applauded applauds It takes quite an effort of willpower to stay focused through the entire SAT.

When you are 100% sure of your answers, there are no guesses and in theory should get them all right. These students really do know all the answers. When you are a good guesser and get 7 out 10 right, sounds good? Not quite. You’ll always miss 3 questions. If you are honest with yourself you know that at least a handful of your right answers were guesses even if you got it down to two possible choices. Is she a genius? I don’t know. Does she have prodigious memory? Most likely. Is it impressive? Most definitely. She deserves congratulations.

She’s asian.

That’s a big surprise.

so if she were any other race it would be different? seriously i’m asian and i didnt score above the 2000 mark.

The Asian comment was just a joke guys…

My daughter who is caucasian got 240 PSAT, 2400 SAT & 36 ACT. She got the SAT & ACT scores in October & November (or maybe November & December – I don’t remember the exact months) of the 11th grade which was the first and only time she took each (except in Middle School Midwest Talent Search). She also had 800s on 4 SAT IIs. She had a 780 on her fifth SAT II which was Spanish – she took that one in the 9th grade after taking Spanish IV. She decided not to take that one again, even though she continued with Spanish AP in 10th, and 2 years of post-AP Spanish after that. All tests were taken only once: 2 SAT IIs in 9th grade, 2 more SAT IIs in 10th grade and the final SAT II in 11th grade. However, my daughter truly is very modest and she would not allow the school or the newspaper to write anything about this. She believes that test scores are personal – like your salary, net worth, IQ or whatever. A small paragraph with most of the story (not the PSAT part) got into the local newspaper somehow and she became very upset and angry – trying to find out who at her school released it. She would not go for a more in-depth interview. She did only normal class work and self-prep before taking the exams. Last year she picked Stanford over HYPM and is very happy there.

Good for her. One of my friends got a 36 and 2390 (she retook the SAT even though her first score was great because she didn’t like her essay score), but I think that’s the closest anyone in my grade has come. I don’t know what her PSAT scores were though.

I know one girl who got two 35s on the ACT. I imagine it would be a bit frustrating. Just so you knowm she signed up to retake before she got her first 35 back.

how are you guys so smart lmao

Wow. 240 + 2400 + 36 + 4*800 = pretty dang impressive, whatever someone thinks of standardized tests.
