Does anybody know the figures on how many people scored a 2400 on one sitting of the new SAT last year? If not, how hard do you really think it is to get a perfect score?

The March test had like 112 get 2400.

I thought it was 107?

I don't remember I just know it was something a little over .100

It was 109 lol.

One of them's in my English class woohoo! (no, it's not me)

(On the March 12, 2005 SAT, 107 students nationwide scored a perfect 2400; scores are calculated by the addition of the score on each section; thus a score of 800 on the Verbal, Math and Writing sections are needed for a perfect score).

I think the people who get 2400s do it out of sheer talent.

more like sheer luck

I know many people wil 2370s or 2380s, but I only know 3 with 2400s. The three that got 2400 were consistently scoring 2400s on practice tests. It wasn't a coincidence.

Well, they'll probably do well in college then.

people who make 2400 are usually poeple who take prep classes when they are in like 8th grade..it basically is rich white and asians(primarily chinese or anyone of that sort)

I dont mean to sound negative

2400s work two ways: You're either very gifted and lucky on those small few questions that set everyone apart, or you're extremely talented and could get a 2400 everytime you take it.

One of the kids who graduated last year from my school got a 1600 and a 36. No prep classes, one try on each test. However, the kid was absolutely brilliant.

As for the New SAT, I don't know anyone who has scored over 2300. One of my friends has a 2290, thats the highest that I know of.

One of my friends got a 2300 and was dissapointed with her score. Talk about high expectations.

She got deferred from Yale though. Oh well.

My friend got a 2390 and is not applying to any Ivies. Talk about being lucky.

^haha

That's kinda sad for him/her. But it's good thing for the rest of us since it's dropping off one more person who isn't heading for the ivies with a nice SAT score.

^ ya when it's harvard, princeton you're talking about..every person counts
