There is not an easy way, I’m afraid. If the song you want is not in the official licensed show songbook, you would need access to the complete score of “Seussical,” which is not available for sale, only for rental. The licensing for “Seussical” is done through MTI.

If I wanted sheet music for this song, and was slightly unscrupulous, and was planning on using it for something that is 100% “fair use” such as an audition, the first thing I would do is figure out if anyone I know has directed “Seussical” and might have made a (probably illicit) copy of the score. Next I would look on the MTI website to see what local companies might be doing the show, and use any of my musical or theatrical connections to find someone who would let me borrow it for half an hour.

I happen to live in the Washington DC area, near the Library of Congress, so my next step would be to determine whether the music division of the Library of Congress has a score to “Seussical.” If so, I’d spend an afternoon there with a lot of score paper and copy it out.

You could find a talented pianist who can play anything (I am fortunate to know some of these, but most people probably do not) to listen to the soundtrack and play it into a recorder for you.

Depending on what you need it for, you could get a Karaoke disc to use as a backing track. There’s a 2-disc one that has your song on it. This isn’t an option for most college auditions, because they often stipulate that it should be a piano track.

If all of that didn’t work out for me, I would…

find
a
different
song
to
do.

The world is full of great songs.

Best luck to you.

P.S. If you love that extended introduction in the Seussical song, may I suggest “I Get A Kick Out Of You” by Cole Porter? There’s lots of sheet music out there for that one, with and without the intro.
