shopping list

Hello all ,
as u all mite already know, i m from nepal n the postal here sucks. i have learnt that most of u in the US have already received the roommate assignment package. i m sure it ll take atleast 2 more weeks for the package to get here. i wud therefore b really grateful if anyone cud fwd to me the list of things required (for college) so that i cud get on with my shopping. n one more thing, since both i and my other friend from nepal r going to b in the US for the first time, any ingenuity in helping us to know more of what we shud bring with us wud b greatly appreciated.
thanks for ur help n have a good day.

Hi, meh why didn't u ask me on msn? I could tell u about it!

Anyway there isn't much for us. The onlt thing i found useful is they tell u to bring clothes lol. U know it is useful for people who live in the States cause they usually travel to Kenyon by car being able to take with them all the stuff they need but i don't thing neither u nor I are gonna bring with us a broom or an electric fan or a desk lamp. They just tell u about all those things that don't apply to us, we'll just have to buy them in the States if we really need them.

As for what you need for the States I don't think there is something in particular. Prolly you should take some warmer clothes with you for the winter but I thikn we should just bring clothes and I dunno something small we may need over there but I don't think we have enough space for anything else rather than clothes lol, it would be funny if we go to the airport with a broom and a fan.

Hope I helped

Maybe boots, KC Lady says middle path gets very muddy.

I agree with SRMOM3 that boots (or sturdy waterproof sneakers) are a good idea, however they can be heavy. I am international and I had to take some weight out of my bag and my boots did the trick...Columbus with several nice malls isn't too far, so you can always buy them when you arrive.

What I would bring when you fly over is a tie (not necessarily an entire suit, but at least nice pants, shoes, and a shirt that would go with a tie) as there are some more formal events (especially for international students during our first week there) and then regular orientation has some events that are dressy casual (not necessarily a tie is needed in this case, but events might come up and it would be a hassle not to have these things as they aren't accessable in Mt. Vernon).

Hi HinJew where are u from and what grade are u in?
