My high school requires 2 years of social studies classes. Most of the universities in my state require the same. I am looking at schools out of state, and most require 3 years. Will I be out of luck in getting admitted? I took 4 yrs. of math, 4 yrs. of science (which is more that many schools require).

Were you provided with the opportunity to take 3 years of social studies classes?

Yes. I actually took 2 -1/2 years because I took a semester before I began my freshman year. I didn't know that I would need three years, so I took a three years of language instead.

Can you change your schedule(assuming you are a senior) so that you can fit in that last semester of a SS class?

No. I am actually taking the 1/2 year next semester (I have completed 2 years), and it is too late to pick up a class now. My high school changed the requirements for graduation for incoming freshman. They have to take 3 years of social studies. Apparently, they have realized that there is a problem. I guess that I will wait and see what happens with the applications. I wonder if I could take a summer course at the community college.
