So I'm in a dilemma. But first, what types of global firms, NGOs, or public orgs would accept short-term and possibly informal internships for a BA in IA that's going into an MA program this fall?

More specifically:
I was accepted to Elliott for MA program and I'm waiting to hear back from Gtown (did not apply to others which have not reported yet). I'm currently in Hong Kong where I came a month ago as I had lined up a job offer AND an internship with a great public policy NGO here. However! I got here and BOTH the NGO and the private company bailed on me! So now I'm starting school this fall (not a bad thing), but have nothing lined up for the next 4 months. I am not able to stay in HK as funds and patience are drying up so I'm going to stay with family in Singapore until school starts or I find something really solid (paid) in DC.

What are my options?!? I know that I am way to late to apply for an internship with the US Embassy (I am a US citizen), and I have somebody in a Singaporean think-tank on the look-out for opportunities, but I'm seeing my position as being pretty screwed. I really was set on getting some work experience in Asia, that seems to be the biggest draw for employers of IR MAs in the private and non-profit sectors and is also a huge life experience. I do have internship and research experience in DC (public research institution and a bespoke consulting company), I speak conversational Russian, and I'm learning Mandarin now. Any thoughts are welcomed. Also, first time on College Confidential - great resource.

PS. Will GW and or Gtown be ****ed that I told them in my applications that I had something in Hong Kong lined up but it never materialized? Can they do anything about it (withdraw my admission)? thx
