Hi guys. So I am currently in Ap Calc Ab now, but I feel that the class is way too easy for me. I never done any of the homework and still manage to get an A in that calss. And I am just wondering that if it is reasonable to do some self studying and go for the Bc exam. How much extra materials does Calc BC cover? Is BC much harder than AB?
All help will be appreciated.

Yes it’s reasonable. BC actually covers the same amount of material as AB does, but it’s different. Both of them have B, while the AB exam includes A, and the BC exam only includes C. So you will need to study the letter C.

Jk, BC covers more material and is a harder exam. Unlike the Calculus AB exam, it also covers polynomial approximations and series. Just make sure you start studying early, enough and you’ll do fine.

@binatang, agreed! I’m in BC now, and although it’s not exactly “difficult,” some concepts are slightly different and others are very similar. So if you start self-studying early, you should be set!

Pretty much all that BC covers that AB doesn’t is more integration techniques (such as integration by parts) and sequences/series (including Taylor/Maclaurin series, how to test if they converge/diverge, etc.). Shouldn’t be too difficult.

Calc BC test covers both AB and new (BC) material.
Get 100% on the AB questions correlates to a 5 on both AB subscore and BC test.

have fun
