Last year Milton was a phone interview (I know, it’s not your “heads” but same thing). TomTheCat got accepted through an off campus, I believe.

gonnastop, yes, they were from mainland China, I chatted with a couple of them. They were on their way or leaving summer camps, so just stopped by for the interviews. You understand Chinese better, they want nothing but the best, everyone who has a remote chance would try Andover and if the test scores are good, they would apply ALL top schools regardless.

As for SSAT testing site, don’t forget HK, and now BJ has a site. triple the number you mentioned. next year.

I think interviewing with AO on road is good enough. But forget about TABS, no top schools goes their fairs, you need to called individual school to find out if anyone going to China, where and when.

Principal, thanks! No wonder he made a funny comment on that interview thread, which I didn’t understand. Is he an international student?

Assign, Thanks for the info. Very informative.

My school is a standby test site this year, too.

So what are the other things that can really affect your chances? I know test scores, interviews, money(!..) and essays value the most. But how? Is it just because of some sort of LUCK? If they enrolled too many musicians and just want an athlete and you happened to be one, then you’d get in. Otherwise, if you were a piano player…and asked for a large FA package, then, REJ!
Is this how things work? And the admission process sounds so random to me…(the int’l pool with FA)

Yep, he lived somewhere in England.

@principal

European students are definitely much luckier than East Asians…

Gonnastop, remember relative to all the people in China and in the world, you’re at a disadvantage relative to some and at a great advantage relative to many.
Have a nice day!

Most certainly, however, this discussion is about on campus vs. otherwise. It is true, though, that east Asians will have a much more idfficult time.

I’m talking about chances of getting in. There are really few Europeans applying each year, right? At least compare to the East Asian pool…
As for living conditions, I can’t be happier with what I have now.

Btw they say google’s shutting down here. Does that affect my gmail account? Can we still access google.com? What’s going on here…censorship…

Thanks for your info!!! Guys, I’m prepared! Lol
