Give me some advices please!!! Thank you

First, be sure you ask for advice and not "advices" - those low verbal and reading scores are going to be a problem for you so you'll need to be very careful that all of your written communication with the schools are in the best English you can muster.

To be honest, your scores may put you a bit out of your league at some of those schools. A few years ago Chinese students represented a new diversity for schools but we are getting more and more PRC applicants and they all have stellar academic records and most play an instrument. Will you be paying full tuition? That will help.

Well, I am paying full tuition.

I am now in the BEST school of PRC, and some of the schools I'm applying for, such as Andover (sister school of mine), know my school. Will that help?

And, my reading of TOEFL is 29/30, much better than the SSAT reading. I got poor reading and verbal scores in SSAT because I had no more than 6 weeks to prepare for both TOEFL and SSAT while I had no materials of SSAT.

I know it clearly that the process of applying is difficult for me but I still have my dream. =]

A relationship between your school and the school to which you are applying will definitely help. Are you the only student from your school applying to Andover? Are you ranked at the top of your class?

Actually, my school is the BEST of my country, like Exeter and Andover in US, so although I am not the very top of my class but about 10%-20%, I will be about 1% in my country. I am sure I am the only one that applying to grade 11 in my school.

You need either PSAT or SAT if you are applying for 11th grade.

How many questions did you miss in the verbal and reading sections? It probably because you are in 11th grade so you have such a percentage compares to kids in other grade.

Actually, the schools that I am applying say it is OK to take SSAT :)

How was your interviews and essays?

Um, I don't know what your chances are because as a Chinese citizen, schools may see you as someone who falls under the stereotype. I really wish I could help but, BEST OF LUCK!!

I lived in China for a few years. I loved Shanghai!!

Hey, I'm from China too! But I went to an international school in Beijing and am a U.S. citizen. Do you go to Ren Da Fu Zhong? Just wondering...
I go to Choate now...
P.M. me!

Well, my interviews and essays, as I thought, are excellent.
Yes, I am in REN DA FU ZHONG! It is great to hear my school's name in a US forum!

Your chances are good since you are the only applicant from the best highschool in China, how is your class rank?

Since I'm in the Honor class, ranking is not very good, 18/51, but, in the whole grade, 80/700.

200/700 of the whole grade can get into the best universities in my country.

Wait, I'm just curious. There are 51 students in a class? Hmm... and I thought there were too many students per class at our school.

well... Chinese schools have big classes....
