I'm at my 2nd year at a community college (went to cc straight from high school) and currently have 27 credit hours (so I'm considered a freshman). By the end of the spring semester of 2015 I should have over 29 credit hours. When I'm applying to universities should my application type be freshman or transfer?
Thank you.

It depends on the university, but for most universities, you would be considered a transfer.

If at all possible, apply as a freshman. Look into it straightway, since applications, and more importantly, scholarship applications, are due VERY soon! Status does not matter AT ALL, except for eligibility for programs (such as first-year seminars, orientations, and scholarships). In other words, applying as a freshman will not somehow delay your graduation date or change your requirements or reduce the number of units that will transfer. There seems to be little downside and much upside to applying as a Freshman. But there is some urgency to this! If you go above 30 credit hours by the end of spring semester, you will probably have to apply as a transfer.
