Hey guys, I am thinking of applying to stanford early, but I dont know if I should.

For one, does applying early to stanford increase chances (there is something like 20% to 12% admit rate between the two). Is this discrepancy due to the caliber of applicants who apply early?

Also, I would have to get my app ready by tuesday (thats how my school works, you need to submit things 2 weeks prior to due date... but Im applying online, so I think I only need 2ndary school report by then)... and I just dont know if it would tip top shape. I have most of my essays done, they need retooling and such.

I just dont know if I could hearbreak of not getting in Dec.... and then having to wait months until I find out about the rest of my schools...

It could go either way for me (34 ACT, 2200 SAT, 800 math IIC, 660 spanish, 680 phsyics, #1 in class of 630, 6 APs right now)... I think there may be a benefit to applying early becuase I dont think I will still be number 1 after this semester, Im looking at a few Bs this semester. Is that somethign to think about, then stanford would see I am number 1, and not see semester grades?

Is it worth it, or should I just not apply anywhere early?

If the quality of your application will be compromised because you are rushing to finish it, don't do it. If you think that you can do it well by Nov 15, go ahead and apply early.

If you meant to ask if you could apply RD to Stanford after being rejected EA, the answer is NO. But if you are deferred, they will supposedly reconsider your application in RD round.

Anyone find out if Rush reports for November tests will work? I only have 1 SAT II taken and I really need the Math 2C score in November to get there in time for me to be eligible for EA.

do u even need satII??~im taking mine in november....cuz it says its recommended, not required....sorry...i kinda dont get the sat thing>"<....maybe its just for internationals or smthg

Well since 2% of the student accepted didnt take the SAT II (around 50 students?) do you think I have an ok chance of cutting it? I'll have super recs, decent stats, and pretty good essays.

Sure, you can try. But you have to realize that you will be competing with people who have super recs, decent stats, and pretty good essays and two SAT IIs.
