<p>I pointed out that perhaps the ED vs. RD issue wasn’t the issue but it might be that CMU doesn’t give lots of money to HSS students. No value judgment on that - it’s just a statement of fact that HSS has the second lowest application stats in the pool of applicants (these are public) - so while there are really talented and bright HSS students at CMU, they aren’t spending their money in that pool. Heck-- they are probably aiming to get women into STEM fields in MCS, SCS and CIT.
I think any HSS student- ED or RD should expect that their package may not meet full need. That was the only point I was making (and bashing Cornell Fin Aid).</p>
