Won’t the 49 people in front of you in class rank also be excelling? You can’t count on suddenly doing better.

If your school does not use a weighted GPA in ranking that will, unfortunately, work against you (for class rank). Colleges like to see students challenge themselves with difficult classes. This will benefit you.

All that being said, talk to your GC about Questbridge. It looks like your best option for getting into a top school.

BTW, what is your home state?

I came to the U.S. from Peru about five years ago. I initially lived in Broward,FL moved to MIami,FL did my freshman year there not so great got only one C and lots of B’s except in english. 2 years ago i moved back to broward have do excelent in a challing corruculum as for waht i states before i was just wondiering if selective colleges will not look at my class rank as much as my grades in selective colleges since there are people in hiegher ranks than me that have taken less challenging classes. Also don’t they look at senior grades before making their final decision, i’m new to the college admissions process and my parents never attended college in this country that’s why I’m wondering. Thank you for the feed back.
