Should I attend TASP or Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies?

Here’s the thing: Stanford is my absolute dream school. And I feel like attending their summer pre-collegiate programs would definitely demonstrate my interest in their school. Plus I’ve heard that many attendees end up actually getting into Stanford (def not sure if it’s true bc i’m pretty sure the summer program isn’t that selective but a lot of ppl have said this). I already got into their summer program and I’m waiting to hear back from TASP. I know TASP is more prestigious but if I end up getting into both, which should I choose?

10000% TASP lol. Having the TASP name on your application is no small deal, and Stanford AO’s are likely to accept you if they see that anyway. If you do happen to be one of the lucky 2% out of an already highly-qualified applicant pool to get that golden TASP acceptance, consider it a miracle and don’t pass up the opportunity. And it’s almost always the rule that in terms of weight in college admissions, free >>>>> pay for summer programs.

Haha alright, thanks so much for your advice. Will hopefully have the option to even choose TASP lol

No problem. I’m assuming you passed the first round of TASP (since those decisions came out weeks ago)? And so you’re waiting to hear back about the interview round? If so, that’s an amazing accomplishment already in its own, congrats!
