Should I be hopeful that UCR will accept me off the waitlist or find another school?

I am a business major and applied to UCR for economics studies. UCR is my dream school and I really want to attend there. UCR is the only UC that I have a possible chance at since the others rejected me. My second choice school is CSUF but I got waitlisted as well there. I don’t know what to do. What are my chances of being accepted to UCR?
I have 3.85 UC GPA.
I’ll graduate with 50 college credits.
Over 100 hours of community service.
I got accepted into CSUSB, Chico, Stanislaus, and Chapman.
I also live 30 minutes away from Riverside.

Waitlist admits can vary significantly from year to year. For the class of 2022, UCR took 1,143 of 6,995 students off the waitlist (p 6 C2 from the CDS https://ir.ucr.edu/cds/CDS_2018-2019.pdf)

If you haven’t heard from UCR by May 1, you will have to put down a deposit at one of the schools that accepted you if you want to attend school in the fall.

If you do get off the UCR waitlist at some point, you can accept that offer, but must withdraw your enrollment at the school where you put down a deposit to hold your spot. You would likely lose that deposit.

Send an email to UCR admissions that you remain very interested, and if you get off the waitlist you will attend. Good luck.

I get how frustrating that can be and, there is no harm in being hopeful. At the same time, you need to make plans elsewhere. Housing and freshman classes can fill up quickly so, you need to place a deposit somewhere. Not sure how affordable Chapman will be. If you haven’t. you ought to visit Chico… good luck.
