Should I Be Worried?

I submitted my app as of 10/20/09 with an ACT score and sent another in I recently (the October 2009 ACT) and they received them as of 11/16/09...I made the EA deadline but should I be worried that I haven't received my decision yet?

I hope not … my S submitted everything October 30 & Wolverine Access still says his recs & transcript aren’t received … even though his Embark app listed them as received when he submitted the app! According to S, it is taking forever for things to get updated, judging by what has happened to his friends (feeder school in MI). You submitted things close enough to the deadline that it may take a little time.

According to Woverine Access my application was complete on Oct. 20th. I have a 3.8 UW cum, no grades below A-, taken all the hardest classes at my school, 2230 SAT lots of good EC and recs and I also have not heard. I am not sure what it means, if anything.

Mine was complete on the 19th and I have nothing back yet…just be patient.

Don’t be worried. Mine was complete 10/1 and people who applied after me heard back in the first two rounds. I got accepted in the third round. I have no idea how they do it and why it takes some apps longer than others. Just hang in there.

Actually it was as of 10/14/2009 lol I’m getting kinda worried, I applied to LSA with a 31 ACT and 3.65 UW (3.8 W) school dosen’t rank, and some of the better EC’s I’ve heard of…lol hope the late notification isn’t an indication of what the decision will be

I wouldn’t be worrying quite yet. Last year, some of my friends who applied all the way back in September with great stats didn’t get accepted until the middle of December. I know how you all feel, given that I was on edge for a couple of months last year when I was in the same situation, but hang in there!

i wouldn’t worry if i were you luvtoski. your stats are good enough to get in. the admissions office has a load of apps. to go through. you’ll probably get a reply when the next batch of replies come out. don’t sweat it though man

Lol 123abc456…should I be worrying my gpa isn’t the best due to a bad sophomore year that was addressed in my essays, mini stats are above…

Ya’ll settle down, December 3rd will answer some questions

jkaplan- your ACT is really good, your gpa is a little less than the average, but your ECs should make up for it. don’t worry man. u-mich has a holistic process of looking at apps., so you should be fine too. and plus, i heard that lsa isn’t too hard to get into.

but if it makes you feel better: last thursday, when the decisions came out, i heard someone with a 3.9 W gpa and like a 1800 SAT got in. and they were OOS. so like i said, don’t worry too much

im pretty sure your guys’ decisions will come out in the next wave.

Don’t be worried. Last year I got all my stuff in by the end of September and didn’t hear back until December 11th (I got in).

damn pseudovirus, you must’ve been worried like hell

Alright cool, thank you…I’ll be looking forward to Friday/Saturday…how much is it gonna hurt me if two of the other kids from my school applying have better profiles, mine is pretty strong but theirs are incredible (one of the kids is in math at the UofA in a class with college juniors) the other is a musical prodigy with like a 4.2 (2180)

jkaplan just try and relaaaax, im sure you’ll be fine!

jkaplan- what schools (Eng., Ross, lsa) are those 2 other kids applying to? i don’t think colleges compare you against your classmates who are applying to the same school as you. they mainly compare you against the rest of your class. and they take in a lot of other factors too. just because your stats are lower than theirs, doesn’t mean that they’re in and you’re rejected. you said earlier that you have good ECs and that should help you get in. how about your course rigor though? have you taken the hardest classes that your school has to offer?

I have 4 AP/7 honors, 2 AP 6 honors not including senior year…my school only offers like 12 AP’s 2 are languages and 3 are like for super advanced math kids only, but I took as many science/history/social science as I could
