I am currently going into my junior year of high school and i'm ranked 11 out of 536. Do you think there's any point in improving it? What are the pros and cons of doing so?

Pros: It shows you’re a better student

Cons: Literally nothing

What schools are you aiming for? If you are aiming for Texas state schools, no.

I’m aiming for a tier one school. Like Mit, Stanford, and uc berkely.

But will a difference of 6 spots make a huge difference. I think the most i can able to move up is 6 with maximum effort.

Maybe if you had a chance at being the val or sal it’d mean something, but other than that there’s no point.

Other than getting the best grades possible (isn’t that what you would do anyway?), what would you do to improve your class rank?

I totally concur with ucbalumnus. Just do the best you can.

Just do the best you can in your classes. You are well within the top 5%. You are fine on class rank. There are many other parts of the application that you can work on. Best of luck.
