My score is in the low 80s.

Sure, why not? LHC, it’s not like anyone here actually bothers to read other threads. I mean after all, CC is just a place to get “chances” right?

It doesn’t matter. If you didn’t have to take the test, it could show interest in math, though unless the adcom knows you didn’t have to take it (my school required it) then listing it probably isn’t worth much. I don’t think it will hurt you, I just think it’s largely irrelevant.

too low a score for cal tech. could hurt if you have all As in your math classes.

so what? yes or no?

It’s completely up to you. Matters very little either way. Personally I included mine (90 something, but not good enough for the AIME) for completeness’ sake, but I doubt it added anything to my application. Like I said, if you took the AMC by choice, I would include it, but if not, then I have no opinion either way.

LHC’s was mid-80s and she was accepted, mine was 113 or so and I was waitlisted. It’s obviously not that huge of a deal.

I doubt that it can hurt you, and even a bad score shows you took it. Mine was mid 60’s and I got in, so I doubt it’ll ever count against you.

bonus points for negative scores
