AMC12 (& AIME) ?

hi, i'm a junior and i'm just wondering if it's worth it to put a score like a 115 on the AMC12 under the academic acheivements section on college apps, for top-tier schools, or will they just be unimpressed? i'm NOT planning on being a math major. also, what about a score of a 3 or 4 on the AIME.

obviously the scores won't hurt me in the admissions process, but could they help?

Sure, put them down. They can't hurt--most kids don't even make it to AIME. I think, also, the fact that you're not a math major makes it even more impressive.

Yeah, definitely put them down - no shame in those scores.

If you're applying to Caltech and MIT, you might not want to put down the AIME scores.

^ eh, it might not help you that much, but a 4 certainly won't hurt you.

A rule of thumb that my friend told me was that AIME 5+ should show up, but below 5 prolly not. just being an AIME qualifier is good though, definitely nothing to be ashamed of. Of course you should put it.

yeah...unfortunately in my junior year I only got a 101.5 on the AMC and a 5 on the AIME...I knew those scores weren't the best, so I just said I was an AIME qualifier. What really sucks is that I did a lot better this year and my schools didn't know about it...oh well, I got into college, so I'm happy!
