Should I bother re-taking US history?

I took the US history subject test in June this year and got a 670. Not the greatest score, obviously. I didn't study too much for it, since I took the AP class (4 on the exam; A- average) this previous school year. I'm a rising senior so I'm retaking the SAT I (scored 2140 in November of 2011) in October and I'm planning on taking math level 1 in November (practice tests show predicted score of 750+).

I'm looking to apply in-state at Virginia Tech and out of state at Boston University (just to give an idea of the range of schools academically that I'm applying to) and while neither of these schools require subject tests, some others that I'm applying to do and I feel that they may strengthen my applications.

My weighted GPA is a 4.1 and I'll have taken 8 AP classes total by the end of senior year. Should I bother re-taking the US history subject test? I don't think I'll improve that much, especially with not much time to study/college apps/SAT I prep.

Also, I’ll be applying undecided to colleges.

It’s not worth it because by then most of the material is going to be long gone and it’ll be too much trouble to study during school.

That’s what I was thinking. Thanks for your input!
